The German Child Protection Association in Düsseldorf is starting the new year with a special message:
Dr. Jochen Reiter, director of the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum Düsseldorf, will assume patronage of the association in 2026.
Dr. Reiter stands for education, responsibility, and commitment to children. At the Aquazoo, one of the most popular destinations for families in Düsseldorf, he has been dedicated for many years to age-appropriate knowledge transfer and environmental education – topics that are also central to the German Child Protection Association.
The Aquazoo is a place of learning and discovery where children can playfully explore nature and the environment. In doing so, it also reflects the current motto of the German Child Protection Association: "Climate protection is child protection."
For 60 years, the Düsseldorf Child Protection Association has been committed to children's rights, non-violent upbringing and a child-friendly society – and wants to continue giving children in Düsseldorf a strong voice in the future.
Working Group Geosciences
The Geosciences Working Group at the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum brings together people who are passionate about geology, mineralogy, and paleontology. Currently, around 20 members meet monthly for professional exchange and to plan excursions, exhibition visits, and other activities together.
New members are always welcome – no prior knowledge is required. The only essential thing is an interest in rocks, fossils, and minerals, and in participating in joint activities. Those interested can register for the working group by email.
Note: This working group is an informal and self-organized association of private individuals. The jointly planned activities are not events organized by the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum. Participation is at your own risk.

Entomology Today
The Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum is the publisher of the journal "Entomologie heute" (formerly "Verhandlungen Westdeutscher Entomologentag"), which summarizes the lectures of the annual Westdeutscher Entomologentag and also publishes other manuscripts with an entomological focus. Here you can download the previous issues of "Entomologie heute" free of charge.
